Louis Vuitton‘s Les Extraits perfume line welcomes its sixth member, Myriad, a creation of the house’s master perfumer, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. Myriad pays homage to a fundamental element in perfumery, making it a distinguished addition to this collection.
A Tribute to Grasse, France
Jacques Cavallier Belletrud drew inspiration from the fragrant breezes wafting through Grasse, France, the location of his laboratory, Les Fontaines Parfumées. Each fragrance in this collection represents a distinct olfactive family and boasts a concentration of 30%.
The Elegance of “Black Gold”
In crafting Myriad, Belletrud harnessed the precious oud known as “Black Gold.” His goal was to infuse it with luminance, illuminating the myriad facets of the scent to create a rich and nuanced aroma. He commenced with Louis Vuitton’s exclusive Bangladeshi Assam Oud essential oil, layering it with floral notes from Bulgarian rose essential oil and Grasse centifolia rose essence.

Artistry in Design
Louis Vuitton partnered with renowned American architect and designer Frank Gehry to craft sculptural fragrance bottles featuring a three-dimensional silver lid. This collaboration marked Gehry’s debut in perfume bottle design.
Gehry conceptualized a dynamic, fluid shape that defied the constraints of physics, inspired by designer Marc Newson’s original Louis Vuitton scent. From the bottle’s form, he extended lines into graceful curves, fashioning a substantial bottle cap reminiscent of a blooming flower in his creative vision. Meticulously molding metal plates into a spherical shape, he birthed this enduring design.
